Los Gatos voters can have to attend and see whether a possible one-eighth-cent sales tax increase could come to the ballot in November.

The Los Gatos City Council was scheduled to debate the outcomes of a recent poll at its May 7 meeting to evaluate what the end result of such a ballot measure could be, but voted to postpone the discussion until May 21 to accommodate the To give the general public time to take a look at the findings.

Council members voted unanimously to maneuver forward with the item at their next meeting and referred the problem to the Finance Commission for consideration before May 21.

“I think the public deserves to see the basis for the decision the council makes,” said Vice Mayor Matthew Hudes.

If council members vote to maneuver to the subsequent step in the method, NBS will prepare a resolution for town to put the measure on the ballot and prepare outreach and education, based on a staff report.
