The recent “Fast & Furious” roller coaster coming to Universal Studios Hollywood will feature 360-degree rotating coaster vehicles that seem like drifting race cars from the road racing film series, which has grossed $7 billion at the worldwide box office.
According to Universal officials, the “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” roller coaster will premiere in 2026 on the upper lot of Universal Studios Hollywood.
According to Universal, the Hollywood Drift roller coaster, with 360-degree rotating ride vehicles, will feature a state-of-the-art ride system with unique innovations and technological achievements.
The roller coaster track will utilize soundproofing technology to scale back roller coaster noise for Universal residents.
“Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” can be the primary high-speed outdoor roller coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood. The park's two existing roller coasters include the indoor roller coaster “Revenge of the Mummy” from 2004 and the outdoor children's roller coaster “Flight of the Hippogriff” from 2016.
Hollywood Drift riders enter the park through a red brick auto repair shop before boarding a roller coaster vehicle modeled after an authentic movie automotive from “Fast & Furious.”
The Hollywood Drift within the roller coaster's name refers back to the 2006 Universal Pictures motion film “Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.” Drift racers intentionally oversteer to the purpose where they lose traction while concurrently maintaining control of the Keep the automotive.
Cars featured in “Tokyo Drift” included a Nissan Fairlady Z33, a Silvia S15 Spec-S, a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX and a Ford Mustang Fastback, in accordance with Drifted.com.
The 2015 Fast & Furious: Supercharged attraction will proceed to be a part of Universal's studio tour following the opening of the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster.
