Lara Trump wraps up California GOP convention reiterating her claims of voter fraud

Just hours after South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who admitted fatally shooting her dog, spoke on the Republican National Convention in California, Lara Trump said American families are selecting between feeding their children due to poor economy and the weight loss program of their pets.

“People have to make decisions about how they want to afford their lives. “If they ultimately have to choose, 'Do I feed my children or do we keep our family pet?'” Trump said during a banquet call at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame. “They decide to feed their children and the family pet goes to a shelter. And because they are overrun and don’t have enough space, these animals are euthanized.”

It is unclear whether her story relies on actual studies or documented events.

Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee and daughter-in-law of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, spoke for about 40 minutes in a moderated Q&A-style discussion. Her talk covered, amongst other things, the presidential election campaign, collecting election money and her fears of election fraud.

Trump told the group of supporters that the local party has increased its membership in recent times.

Although there are much more registered Democrats than Republicans in California, particularly within the Bay Area, Trump noted that a significant slice of the conservative party's donations got here from this region.

While Trump spoke little and only in broad strokes in regards to the social issues that matter to conservatives, California GOP Chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson highlighted priority issues for the state's Republicans during a news conference before Trump's dinner talk.

These issues include border security, the fentanyl crisis, rising crime and energy issues.

“There is border security with fentanyl coming across the border,” Patterson said. “Energy independence is also a big issue.”

Earlier within the convention, Noem, the lunchtime keynote speaker, criticized Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom and President Joe Biden for his or her restrictive pandemic policies and called on state Republicans to extend their support for local and national conservative candidates and ballot measures.

Noem was once considered a possible candidate to interchange former President Donald Trump. But political experts said that was now not likely since she revealed in her recent book that she shot her dog several years ago, angering Republicans and Democrats alike.

Meanwhile, Lara Trump spent much of her speech repeating and supporting baseless claims that the 2020 election was rigged.

“If you come into our offices at the RNC, the majority of the staff that you will see in our building right now is focused solely on election integrity because let's face it, we can never repeat 2020 again,” Trump said. “We must ensure free, fair and transparent elections.”

Former President Trump was indicted last yr on felony charges related to his attempts to overturn the outcomes of the last presidential election.

Many of the states where his supporters claim the election was rigged conducted recounts and audits of the outcomes. All assessments confirmed that Biden won the election and located no evidence of massive voter fraud, as claimed by Trump.

Tickets for the meeting ranged from $300 to $575. On the second day of the congress, around 800 to 1,000 members attended.

In 2016, the last time Republicans held the state convention within the Bay Area, also in Burlingame, there have been clashes between protesters and police.

This time, the convention was peaceful without the presumptive Republican nominee's presence and there have been no protesters in sight.

“We are focused. Very focused,” Patterson said when asked in regards to the contrast in mood this time. “We know what our job is and it’s an exciting time. Now the work is ahead of us.”

Sunday is the last day of the three-day state convention.

The Republican National Convention is scheduled to happen July 15-18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
