Ukraine sent reserve units to the border areas of the northeastern Kharkiv region to bolster its defenses against increasing Russian attacks.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said In a Google-translated post via Telegram, Russian forces wrote that they attempted to interrupt through Ukraine's line of defense in Kharkiv at around 5 a.m. local time, but were repelled.
Oleh Syniehubov, head of Ukraine's Kharkiv region, said that “the Armed Forces of Ukraine are confidently holding their positions” and “not a single meter has been lost.”
In a separate post, Syniehubov said no less than two people were killed and five others injured consequently of “massive” Russian shelling within the Kharkiv region.

Ukraine attacked an oil refinery in Russia's Kaluga region within the early hours of Friday, setting the ability on fire, in keeping with Russian media reports.
