One was arrested, one was wanted for stealing Porsches from the Fremont dealership

On Wednesday, Fremont police announced that each cars – a Porsche GT3 and a Porsche GT3 RS price a combined total of greater than $500,000 – had been recovered and a suspect was in custody.

The theft occurred around 12:45 a.m. April 4 at a automotive dealership within the 5000 block of Cushing Parkway.

The officers determined the direction of travel of the cars and just a few hours later investigators found the Porsche GT3 RS in Milpitas. The vehicle was returned to the dealer.

On April 5, investigators determined the placement of the Porsche GT3. According to police, the driving force was identified as one in all the suspects who stole the cars from the dealership.

Investigators arrested the driving force – a 22-year-old man from Hayward – and seized the GT3.

When arrested, the person tried to throw away a loaded handgun, police said, adding that a search of his home turned up several high-powered rifles, stolen property, money and a police radio scanner.

The man was arrested on suspicion of driving or stealing a vehicle without the owner's consent, conspiracy, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition and resisting an officer, or to have stopped him.

The seek for a second suspect, who has not yet been identified, continues, police said.
