A Bolinas beach house once owned by rockers Grace Slick and Paul Kantner has been listed for $14.99 million. Slick and Kantner were original members of Jefferson Airplane, a rock group formed in 1965 that was later renamed Jefferson Starship after which Starship.
Kantner bought the home in 1970 and lived there with Slick. The couple often hosted famed San Francisco rock musician Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead there. In fact, the family room was a makeshift stage where members of Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead and other musicians held jam sessions late into the evening.
The updated, 4,074-square-foot oceanfront home has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Expansive decks and terraces offer breathtaking views of the crashing waves nearby. There's also an out of doors fire pit, a spa and a mosaic-tiled, guitar-shaped pool designed by Slick.
With Starship, Slick sang co-lead on two No. 1 hits: “We Built This City” and “Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now.”
