Aero Fire in Calaveras jumps onto Cal Fire's list of currently largest fires

According to Cal Fire, 10 wildfires covering greater than 300 acres were raging across the state, from Redding to Riverside County, on Monday afternoon.

In a situation report, Cal Fire said the fireplace was spreading southeast toward Lake Pyramid, which was closed. About 1,200 people were also evacuated from Hungry Valley State Park.

The Hesperia Fire in San Bernardino County and the Point Fire in Sonoma County took the highest three spots with 1,131 and 1,190 acres, respectively. As of Monday afternoon, the Hesperia Fire was 30% contained and the Point Fire was 20% contained.

Cal Fire said one firefighter was injured while battling the Point Fire.

The Junes Fire in Butte County, the fourth largest fire within the state, burned 1,076 acres but was 95% contained. The fire destroyed not less than one structure.

The Aero Fire in Calaveras County was also added to the list Monday afternoon and had already burned 932 acres as of 5:35 p.m., based on Cal Fire. The fire was 0% contained. Evacuation orders were issued for the world around Copper Town Square and O'Brynes Ferry Road.

Other fires of notable size across the state included the Lisa Fire in Riverside County at 893 acres (50% contained), the Hernandez Fire in San Benito County at 642 acres (45% contained), and the Sites Fire in Colusa County at 614 acres (0% contained).

Finally, the Max Fire in Los Angeles County and the Douglas Fire in Sacramento County had burned 338 and 327 acres, respectively. Both fires were 0% contained.
