After relinquishing its crown to Air New Zealand in 2023, it has now once more been named the perfect airline on the planet by the Australian Aviation Safety and Product Rating Agency. AirlineRatings.com.
The annual Airline Excellence Awards judge airlines on 12 criteria including safety and product rating, fleet age, profitability, serious incidents, innovation, future fleet orders and passenger rankings from a wide range of sources. The judging panel of 5 editors, led by Geoffrey Thomas, Editor-in-Chief of AirlineRatings.com, has a combined total of over 100 years of industry experience.
“Qatar Airways came first in many key areas, although the top 10 was very close,” said Thomas“However, Qatar Airways ranked first among all airlines in passenger ratings and the consistency and high standard of service was evident in the feedback.”
Excellence in aviation
Singapore Airlines won the award for Best First Class, Qatar Airways took home the award for Best Business Class, Emirates took home the award for Best Premium Economy and Air New Zealand received the award for Best Economy Class.
Qatar Airways won the award for best catering, Virgin Australia had the perfect cabin crew and Qantas triumphed with its lounges.

For the Middle East, Qatar Airways was the highest selection. Korean Air triumphed in North Asia, Cathay Pacific Airways was the leader in Southeast Asia and Air New Zealand dominated the Australasian Pacific. Air France was the highest selection for Europe and Turkish Airlines led in Southern Europe. Air Canada won the prize for North America and Latam was the winner in South America.
