Alameda police announced the kid's death in a press release on Monday.
“The City of Alameda is saddened to announce that Baby Wesley, the fifth victim of the tragic shooting on Wednesday, July 10, did not survive his injuries and passed away at a local hospital,” police said.
The suspect within the mass murder is the boy's father, 54-year-old Shane Killian. Before the crime was announced, he was charged with quadruple murder, attempted murder and other serious crimes.
The other victims are Killian's 36-year-old wife Brenda Natali Morales, his 6-year-old son William Killian, his 70-year-old father-in-law Miguel Angel Carcamo Ramirez and his mother-in-law Marta Elena Diaz Morales.
On July 10, at 9 p.m., officers were called to Killian's home within the 400 block of Kitty Hawk Road and located considered one of the victims, a person, outside dying from a gunshot wound. Killian got here out of the house and was arrested.
According to court documents, Ramirez identified Killian as a murder suspect before his death.
According to police, the suspect and the victims lived together in the home for about six months before the murders.
According to court records, Killian has no other criminal record in Alameda County.
The mass murder was the worst in the town since 1985, when a lady and her three children were murdered by a lodger who committed suicide.
Killian is being held without bail and is scheduled to look in court on July 22.
