Elon Musk supports Trump after former president was shot

Elon Musk posted on X that he “fully” supports Donald Trump, shortly after the previous president and sure Republican nominee was forced off the stage at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday following shootings by secret service agents.

“I fully support President Trump and hope for his speedy recovery,” Musk said. wrote on X, which belongs to him.

Trump was taken to a neighborhood medical facility where he’s being treated. His spokesman said the previous president was “doing well.” Trump appeared to have blood on the side of his head and on his ear.

In a separate post, Musk, CEO of Tesla and defense company SpaceX, shared a photo shows Trump raising his fist within the air, with the American flag within the background and Secret Service agents rushing to guard him. Musk also compared Trump to Theodore Roosevelt, who survived an assassination attempt during his presidential campaign in 1912.

Although Musk had indirectly endorsed Trump before Saturday's event, he had made it clear that he opposed President Joe Biden's return to the White House. In a post in March, he claimed he wouldn’t donate money to either presidential candidate.

Musk met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach earlier this yr and said at Tesla's 2024 annual shareholder meeting that he had had “some conversations” with Trump. Musk also said at that event that Trump “calls me out of the blue and for no reason.”

On Friday, Bloomberg reported that Musk donated a “substantial” but undisclosed amount to a pro-Trump super PAC called America PAC.

Musk is the richest person on this planet, with an estimated net value of around $250 billion, in keeping with Forbes.
