Microsoft says it has restored cloud services after a worldwide outage

Microsoft The cloud services have been restored after an outage, the corporate announced on Friday.

The US technology giant said late Thursday that customers within the Central US region may experience issues with several Azure services and its Microsoft 365 app suite, which could include “outages in service management operations and service connectivity or availability.”

On Friday, Microsoft said it had determined the underlying cause and most services had been restored, but the corporate said some customers within the region should be experiencing issues.

“A small subset of services are still experiencing after-effects,” Microsoft said.

Various Microsoft 365 services were affected, including Teams.

Reuters reported on Friday that the Microsoft cloud outage caused some airlines to cancel flights. US carrier Frontier Airlines said on Friday that its systems were impacted by the Microsoft outage.

“During this time, booking, check-in, access to your boarding pass and some flights may be impacted,” the corporate said on X.

In January, Microsoft experienced a worldwide cloud outage that affected services from Outlook to Teams. At the time, Microsoft said it was because of a network change.
