Singapore is taken into account the safest destination on the earth for travelers

According to a brand new study by Forbes Advisor, Singapore is the safest city on the earth for tourists.

The study analyzed aspects corresponding to crime, quality of healthcare and the chance of natural disasters. Cities got safety rankings on a scale of 0 to 100, with the safest cities receiving the bottom rankings.

Singapore scored 0 points within the study's evaluation.

Of the 60 cities analyzed, the Southeast Asian city had the bottom natural disaster risk and the second lowest health and infrastructure risks.

The study also analyzed digital security risks, which is the flexibility to make use of the web freely without fear of online attacks or privacy violations. Singapore was ranked because the country with the second lowest digital security risk on the list.

After Singapore, the study ranked Tokyo and Toronto because the second safest cities for travelers. Tokyo was given the bottom health risk, reflecting the standard of healthcare in town, and the fifth lowest infrastructure safety risk.

Japan and Australia were the one countries whose cities were represented within the study’s top 10 list:

The riskiest cities

Only one city received 100 points: Caracas, Venezuela.

The city has the “highest health risk, reflecting the low level and quality of health care and infrastructure,” the study says. Due to the crime rate, Caracas also received the bottom travel safety rating from the U.S. State Department – a Level 4 warning: Do not travel.

“Do not travel to Venezuela if you fear crime, unrest, kidnappings and arbitrary enforcement of local laws. Reconsider your trip if you see unlawful detention, terrorism and poor health infrastructure,” the The US State Department website states.

The Pakistani city of Karachi was ranked because the second most dangerous city within the study. Forbes Advisor ranked Karachi as town with the best personal security risk and the fourth highest infrastructure security risk.

“Terrorism and ongoing violence by extremist elements have led to indiscriminate attacks on civilian as well as local military and police targets,” the U.S. State Department said in a travel advisory issued in June 2023, issuing a “Level 3” warning for the country, recommending that visitors reconsider their trip.

Yangon in Myanmar ranked third among the many world's most unsafe cities for travelers, followed by Lagos in Nigeria, Manila within the Philippines and Dhaka in Bangladesh.
