United announced Wednesday that it’s using generative artificial intelligence to send travelers links to live radar maps from flight tracking platform FlightAware and inform them about other causes of flight disruptions, resembling mechanical problems or airport congestion.
The company's technology will probably be put to the test across the Fourth of July holiday, when United expects to fly a record five million passengers between June 28 and July 8, up 7% from last 12 months.
According to FlightAware, nearly 942,000 American airline flights, or 21.4 percent, were delayed in the primary half of the 12 months. That's barely lower than the 22.3 percent of flights that were delayed in the identical period last 12 months.
