OpenAI, the corporate behind the ChatGPT chatbot, was founded in 2015 by a lot of researchers, academics and entrepreneurs, including Sam Altman, Greg Brockman and Elon Musk.
Altman and Brockman are still at OpenAI, serving as CEO and president, respectively. Musk left the corporate in 2018. At the time, OpenAI said Musk left to avoid a conflict of interest together with his other company. Teslawhich increasingly focused on AI. In the years that followed, OpenAI has turn into one in every of the leading firms in AI development.
OpenAI gained popularity in late 2022 after it released ChatGPT, a chatbot that may answer user questions in a way that feels like a human. The company also has tools that may generate images and videos from text prompts. OpenAI now reportedly generates $3.4 billion in annual revenue and has big-name clients including PwC, Moderna, and Estée Lauder. Microsoft has invested around $13 billion within the AI startup.
