10 things to observe on Friday September twenty seventh
1. The S&P 500 expected a rather higher opening price on Friday after one other record high. The 10-year Treasury yield finally fell after the PCE price index, the Fed's favorite inflation indicator, turned in weak in August. With just a number of trading days left within the historically worst month of the 12 months, the S&P 500 was heading for its first September gain in five years.
2. Club holding Costco Shares traded barely lower after reporting a solid fourth-quarter fiscal 2024 earnings report on Thursday evening. The wholesaler's long-awaited increase in membership fees, which took effect Sept. 1, could have a limited impact through the top of fiscal 2025 and into fiscal 2026, executives said. We have raised our price goal for the stock.
3. Best buy was added to JPMorgan's analyst focus list after a gathering with the electronics and appliance retailer's management team. The analysts, who reiterated their $111 price goal, called Best Buy a “valuable idea” to capitalize on the pc substitute cycle together with sales growth in televisions and residential appliances as existing home sales improve. This largely reflects the club's investment thesis.
