Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) Poll for male athlete of the week.
Throughout the tutorial 12 months, we offer a listing of candidates who’ve stood out over the past week and permit you, the readers, to vote for the winner.
This week we're considering performances from September 2-7.
The polling stations close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
Until then, you’ll be able to vote as over and over as you want without using bots or other artificial voting methods.
Votes forged by email and after Wednesday 5:00 p.m. is not going to be counted.

Lenox Colvin, Oakland Football: Colvin proved to be an efficient quarterback for the Wildcats, completing 12 of 16 passes as Oakland defeated the American of Fremont by a dominant 50-0 rating.
Angel Estrada, Yerba Buena Football: Estrada was the star player on defense for the Aztec Warriors, collecting eight tackles for loss as Yerba Buena lost a narrow 27-18 loss to Harbor of Santa Cruz.
Jeremiah Fung, Palo Alto Football: Fung converted two interceptions into touchdowns and scored a 3rd touchdown on a pass from his brother, sophomore quarterback Justin Fung, as Paly defeated Oak Grove 40-0.
Kingston Keanaaina, St. Francis Football: Keanaaina nearly made school history on Friday night. The Lancers senior running back had 357 all-purpose yards and rushed for 336 yards, the second-highest total by a St. Francis player, and scored three touchdowns because the Lancers defeated McClymonds 34-14.
Bryce O'Nesky, Amador Valley Water Polo: O'Nesky, a senior, scored seven goals and added two assists as Amador Valley defeated Livermore 20-5.
Ryland Pierce, College Park Water Polo: Pierce, a goalie by trade, contributed on either side of the ball for College Park. He scored two goals and had three steals in a 17-1 win over Vintage and added an assist in a 17-8 win over Novato. He stopped five shots and didn't allow a goal within the win over Vintage. He stopped 11 shots within the win over Novato.
Zayne St. Laurent, Branham Soccer: St. Laurent had a standout day for Branham as a large receiver, scoring 4 receiving touchdowns and rushing for 240 yards because the Bruins rolled over Scotts Valley 60-35.
Alex Stoffel, Menlo School water polo: Stoffel, a junior, scored 11 goals and had 13 assists, seven steals, five blocks and nine digs as Menlo advanced to the finals of the Roche Invitational. The Knights went 4-1 last week, defeating Los Gatos, Burlingame, Rio Americano and Buchanan and losing 12-11 to Redwood within the invitational final.
Christian Ti'a, soccer in Amador Valley: Ti'a, a senior, threw five touchdown passes as Amador Valley defeated Cosumnes Oaks 54-7, completing 16 of 18 passes for 267 yards through the air.
Owen Thomason, Arroyo Football: Thomason, a senior, rushed for 86 yards and 6 touchdowns on 14 carries because the Dons beat Washington-Fremont 37-29. Thomason also played a key role at linebacker as Arroyo improved his record to 2-0 this season.
Evan Vernon, Christopher Football: Vernon, a senior, led the Cougars' receivers with 125 yards on eight catches, including a 57-yard touchdown as Christopher defeated Piedmont Hills 35-7. Defensively, he collected eight tackles and had an important pass defense on the goal line.
