8 ways non-skiers can enjoy snow fun in Tahoe this winter

Tahoe and the Sierra slopes are known for their epic ski resorts. But simply because you don't ski or ride isn't a reason to miss out on having fun within the snow. Here are eight suggestions for
Tahoe visitors preferring to experience their fun differently.

Experience a hockey game: Tahoe now has an expert minor league team, the Tahoe Knight Monsterswho play on the Tahoe Blue Event Center in Stateline, NV. Public ice skating, concert events and other events are also offered here.

Aim high: Palisades Tahoe, which incorporates the previous Squaw Valley and neighboring Alpine Meadows, offers Sightseeing lift maps which cover all-you-can-ride access to 3

Go sledding or tubing: You might think these activities are only for teenagers, but no. All ages participate in Granlibakken, Soda Springs and other venues across the lake. Also look out for tube carousels for the little ones.

Take a spin on the ice: The variety of ice rinks in Tahoe, each indoor and outdoor, is increasing yearly. But for lookie-loos who just want to sit down on the sidelines, sip a drink and watch, Northstars Village Ice Rink is the alternative.

Snowshoeing: Visit almost one in every of the cross-country ski resorts to check out this sport.

Try somewhat snow game: A SNO Park Permit ($15 for a day or $40 for the season) purchases access to 18 plowed parking areas within the Sierra Nevada, many with snow playgrounds in addition to groomed trails for cross-country skiing, dog sledding and snowshoeing. Some also allow overnight camping.
