American Airlines desires to revamp its boarding process with latest technology to flag individuals who board the mistaken group.
The Fort Worth, Texas-based airline is in early testing at Albuquerque International Sunport and Tucson International Airport. Soon, the airline said, it can expand to other locations, including Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. According to the Washington Post, the system will give an “audible signal” if a passenger boards with the mistaken group, alerting the gate agent.
“The new technology is designed to ensure customers can easily take advantage of the benefits of priority boarding and helps improve the boarding experience by giving our team more insight into boarding progress,” said Andrea Koos, spokesperson from American.
The airline is “satisfied with the test results so far.”

Boarding will look much like today as customers will proceed to receive a boarding position number and queue. Southwest customers who purchased at the very best fares get in first. However, there can be a brand new change within the allocation of seats. Seating maps are provided in the course of the booking process and seats with extra legroom or a preferred seat on the front of the cabin are offered.
