East Bay assistant principal attacked at homecoming dance, student arrested

The incident occurred Saturday evening at California High School, 9870 Broadmoor Drive in San Ramon, in keeping with Superintendent CJ Cammack. In one letter To district staff and families, Cammack said the assistant principal approached two students within the car parking zone and was physically attacked by one in every of them.

The students left the realm after the incident, but San Ramon police arrested one in every of them that very same night.

Cammack said the scholars didn’t attend Cal High but were enrolled at one other school within the district.

A spokesman for the police department didn’t immediately reply to a request for further details in regards to the case, including the age and site of the arrested student.

The district is cooperating with the criminal investigation, Cammack said, adding that it would conduct its own investigation and “pursue any disciplinary consequences to the fullest extent permitted by law.”

“We want to make it clear that this behavior will not be tolerated at Cal High or any school in SRVUSD,” the principal said within the letter. “We care deeply about the safety and well-being of our students and all of our staff.”

The incident, Cammack added, was “not a reflection of the outstanding character and behavior of our student body at Cal High or SRVUSD as a whole.”

“Having spoken directly to the Cal High community, we all have a shared responsibility to care for each other and ensure that every single location in SRVUSD is a place where all members of our community are both physically and emotionally safe.” Cammack said.
