San Jose What to eat on the Little Italy Festival this Sunday

Little Italy San Jose's annual street festival returns on Sunday, October sixth with an enormous array of Italian food, from homemade specialties to restaurant favorites, plus 150 Italian cars, live entertainment, wine stalls and dozens of food and beverage stalls Craft vendors within the historic district.

The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and admission is free.

If you're heading out to eat, there are South Bay restaurants along with traditional vendors. Little Italy stores – Littlest Little Italy, Paesano's, Henry's Hi Life and Poor House Bistro – can even be open and serving indoors.

Local favorites include the Tricarico Social Club, with polenta and sausage, and the Sons of Sicily, which fry sfingi for dessert.

Look for arrosticini skewers, salumi and formaggio from Eataly at Valley Fair. gnocchi and tiramisu from Morgan Hill's Sicilia at Bocca Ristorante; Pasta Boscaiola with mushrooms, strozzapreti and meatballs from Locanda Sorrento in Campbell; and porchetta, antipasti salad and Caesar salad from Rolatti Ristorante in downtown San Jose. Paesano's offers arancini and cannoli outside on Julian Street.

Risotto's Kitchen makes limoncello cake, risotto and caprese and Sugo Cooking makes lasagna and baked pasta. Sleight of Hand Pizza and La Fenice Pizza sell slices.

Artisan vendors include Roxane's Biscotti, Mike & Niki's Honey, That Garlic Stuff, The Olive Bar, Foustman's Salami, La Copa Loca Gelato, in addition to specialty items from Aemilia Imports, Luca Nextdoor and Ciao Italia.
