Antioch police are looking for people involved in vehicle-to-vehicle shootings

Antioch police are looking for people involved in a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting Tuesday morning, in line with a news release.

The shooting happened around 11:24 a.m. near the Dutch Pride Gas and Food in the five hundred block of East 18th Street, authorities said.

Police received several calls reporting shots fired and a vehicle collision. Callers reported seeing a person armed with a gun fleeing a silver sedan that had been left disabled in a car parking zone, authorities said.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the silver sedan within the car parking zone of 511 East 18th Street, authorities said.

During their initial investigation, officers learned that the motive force of the silver sedan was driving east on East 18th Street away from the gas station when an individual in a dark sedan traveling west opened fire as they pulled up A silver sedan passed by, police said.

The silver sedan then began to spin and crashed into cars within the car parking zone, authorities said. A person with a gun and a girl exited the silver sedan and ran in numerous directions. The man ran northwest and jumped over fences, witnesses told police.

The dark sedan fled the scene of the accident at high speed and couldn’t be found by the police. Authorities said police were unable to locate any of the occupants of the silver sedan.

Rocketship Delta Prep School, which was positioned near the incident, was placed on lockdown out of an “out of abundance of caution” until the scene of the accident was declared secure, police said.

The investigation into the incident remains to be in its early stages, authorities added.
