Disneyland has taken the primary steps to start behind-the-scenes preparations for the expansion of Avengers Campus, which can add two latest attractions and double the dimensions of the Marvel-themed land at Disney California Adventure.
The plan presented by Disneyland addresses utilities, temporary trailers and backstage parking behind the Avengers Campus that may be affected by the expansion.
The preparation plan is a procedural step that happens before the town issues a demolition permit and before Disneyland submits plans for the expansion of the Avengers Campus.
According to city officials, the Avengers Campus expansion is just not a part of the recently approved $1.9 billion DisneylandForward plan.
As a part of the expansion of the Avengers Campus, construction of the brand new attractions “Avengers Infinity Defense” and “Stark Flight Lab” will begin in 2025.
The Avengers Infinity Defense Dark Ride will transport riders aboard a globe-hopping spaceship to distant worlds and alternate realities across the Marvel Multiverse, utilizing a combination of large-scale built environments and immersive media.
The Stark Flight Lab The attraction will happen in Tony Stark's workshop, where riders will fly like Iron Man at the tip of a automotive factory-style robotic arm during a simulated flight.
Disneyland is closing three attractions throughout the busy holiday season
Robert Downey Jr., who will play supervillain Doctor Doom in 2026's Avengers: Doomsday, will reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man for each latest Avengers Campus attractions.
