Brock Purdy remained limited at practice on Thanksgiving Day, leaving his status for Sunday's 49ers game in Buffalo in query.
Purdy missed last Sunday's 38-10 loss at Green Bay attributable to a shoulder injury that has affected his throwing ability for the reason that previous game's loss to Seattle.
Brandon Allen began rather than Purdy for the 49ers (5-6) within the lopsided loss at Lambeau Field. The Bills (9-2) snapped a six-game winning streak this past weekend.
Also not practicing Thursday were defensive end Nick Bosa (oblique, hip), left tackle Trent Williams (ankle), guard Aaron Banks (concussion), cornerback Deommdore Lenoir (knee), defensive tackle Jordan Elliott (concussion) and linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles .
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Purdy began throwing again Monday without pain after a weekend of rest and rehabilitation with the 49ers in Green Bay. At the beginning of Wednesday's warmups, he attempted just two short throws, then worked on footwork and handoff drills while the 49ers' other three quarterbacks threw to receivers in one-on-one drills before media access ended.
Running back Christian McCaffrey was in full motion after taking some day off on Wednesday.
Wide receiver Chris Conley was placed on the injury report with a knee injury that limited him on Thursday. Also limited were linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles), defensive tackle Kevin Givens (groin) and guard Dominick Puni (shoulder).
Cornerback Charvarius Ward was at full strength for the second straight day and is working to return from a three-game layoff. Return specialist Jacob Cowing also trained fully after missing the last game attributable to a concussion.
In Buffalo, tight end Dalton Kincaid (knee) missed his second straight practice. Offensive tackle Spencer Brown (ankle) was in full motion after being limited on Wednesday. Wide receiver Keon Coleman (wrist) remained limited.
