Steve Kerr, a frequent critic of Donald Trump, accepted the previous president's re-election bid in a media session Wednesday before the Warriors' game against the Celtics in Boston.
“Well, I believe in democracy and the American people spoke and voted for Trump,” Kerr said. “I want him to do well in the next four years. I want our country to prosper.”
Kerr, who endorsed Kamala Harris for president on the Democratic National Convention this summer, then struck a sarcastic tone, mocking Trump's unwillingness to simply accept his defeat within the 2020 election. which led to the rebellion on January 6, 2021 within the Capitol.
“Luckily everything was clean this time,” he joked. “It’s great that every election except the last one four years ago was actually valid.”
Two days ago, Kerr warned about Trump's election fraud conspiracy theories.
The 59-year-old coach helped lead the U.S. to Olympic gold in Paris this summer in his first stint as head coach of Team USA. He pointed to issues that some analysts have identified as reasons voters may not have had the courage to support Vice President Harris: U.S. support for Israel's military and economic inflation.

So I want the best for us, and I hope Trump can achieve that.”
