Jayson Tatum of the Celtics was named East Player of the Month

After one other stellar begin to a brand new NBA season, Celtics star Jayson Tatum is taking home some hardware.

The forward was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for October/November, the fifth time the 26-year-old has taken home the monthly award. Tatum has now received the second-most Player of the Month awards in Celtics franchise history, behind only Larry Bird (7).

This is the third consecutive yr Tatum has earned Eastern Conference Player of the Month honors in October/November.

Tatum led the reigning NBA champions en path to a 17-4 begin to the 2024-25 season. He was the one player within the Eastern Conference to average at the least 28.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game in October and November.

Even though Boston has broken away from nearly all of the Eastern Conference this fall, Tatum has also delivered when needed for the Celtics.

Tatum and the Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 108-89 on Monday night at TD Garden. Tatum was listed as questionable on Boston's injury report for Wednesday's game against the Pistons attributable to “right patella tendinopathy.”
