“As part of our U.S. expansion strategy, this service will provide people in Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area with a unique opportunity to discover the cultural and natural beauty of Guadalajara,” said Viva EVP and Chief Planning and Alliances Officer. Javier Suárez, who highlighted the town's technology and manufacturing industries in addition to its historic architectural styles and art and culture.
“We are impressed with the growth and reliability Viva has demonstrated since beginning service at OAK last July,” said Craig Simon, aviation director for the Port of Oakland. “Viva’s entry into the San Francisco Bay Area market exclusively at OAK has helped make OAK the region’s premier gateway to Mexico. We know that there are strong connections between Jalisco and the East Bay. This new daily flight will be a welcome addition to our international schedule.”
