The top searches on Google in 2024 include the Bay Area

Search giant Google has released its lists of the highest search queries within the US in 2024. The presidential election, the Olympics and extreme weather were, unsurprisingly, at the highest of an important lists.

The Bay Area was well-represented within the polls due to Kamala Harris, who ranked high in overall searches and folks in her bid for the U.S. presidency. Other search topics with strong local ties included athletes (San Francisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk) and films (Pixar's “Inside Out 2,” which was No. 1 on the list).

The top Google searches within the Bay Area included sports: Copa América and the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. the New York Yankees within the World Series.
