Disneyland will begin construction this weekend on the Avengers Campus expansion, which can add two latest attractions and double the dimensions of the Marvel-themed land at Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland will close the Timon Parking Lot on Sunday, Jan. 12, to permit construction to start on the expansion of the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure, Disneyland officials said.
The Avengers Campus expansion adds latest attractions “Avengers Infinity Defense” and “Stark Flight Lab” to the Marvel superhero-themed land.
The dark ride “Avengers Infinity Defense” transports riders aboard a globe-hopping spaceship to distant worlds and alternate realities across the Marvel Multiverse, utilizing a mixture of large-scale built environments and immersive media.
The Stark Flight Lab attraction takes place in Tony Stark's workshop, where riders fly like Iron Man at the top of a automobile factory-style robotic arm during a simulated flight.
Robert Downey Jr., who will play supervillain Doctor Doom in 2026's Avengers: Doomsday, will reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man for each latest Avengers Campus attractions.
The expansion of the Avengers Campus will even replace the backstage location of the Red Car Trolley Barn.
The Red Car Trolley might be closed on February eighth in preparation for construction of the Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab attractions at DCA's Avengers Campus.

The Red Car Trolley opened in 2012 as a part of the redesign of the DCA entrance promenade with a themed motif that paid homage to Walt Disney's Nineteen Twenties Los Angeles.
DCA plans to maintain a Red Car Trolley parked on Buena Vista Street for photo ops after the attraction closes in February.
