The incident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday, the police from Palo Alto said in a press release.
The police said that the victim, which was generally known as a girl in the 40’s, went through the Civic Center Plaza and approached the front entrance of the town hall when a person headed for her, blocked her way and “a racist nickname that against Asian people was directed ”.
The victim, who feared for her security, ran from the suspect who followed her and continued to scream, the police said. He heard to follow her when she reached the street.
The victim dismissed an official police officer in the 600 block of the Ramona Street. Official officials were sent to the area, but they did not find the suspect.
When the officers spoke to the victim, they received a message that a man was harassing customers and walking in and out of the city and country Village in the embarcadero road in and out of circulation.
The officers arrested the man and found that he was the same person who addressed the woman outside the town hall, the police said. The man was arrested and instructed to the prison of Santa Clara County for hate crimes and malicious disability costs.
