What is TGL?
TGL is a 15-week golf series created by TMRW Sports – an organization founded by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Mike McCarley, a former NBC Sports executive, and backed by notable investors equivalent to Steph Curry and Fenway Sports Group is supported.
The league takes place indoors, in a custom-built stadium on the campus of Palm Beach State College, equipped with a five-story-tall simulator screen, grass tee boxes for full-swing shots, and bunkers crammed with what’s believed to be the identical Sand can be used at Augusta National Golf Club. Once players reach the realm surrounding the green of every virtual hole, they turn to the rotating green to finish it. Nearly 600 hydraulic jacks will help alter the undulation of the green to spotlight the holes, designed by various golf architects without structural limitations. This is video game golf, in any case.
There are six TGL teams representing cities across the United States, each consisting of 4 PGA Tour players. These teams will compete live against one another throughout the season. Then the 4 best teams move into the playoffs. The golfers are equipped with microphones and the shot clocks require a brisk pace of play. There shall be referees and timeouts like other major league sports – even smoke and walk-out music will introduce players to the ticketed audience. No glass panels or nets separate the fans from the golfers. So yes, a bunker shot with a skull on the green may very well be tricky.

What is TGL format and TGL rules?
In each game, three players from each team of 4 compete against one another. Games last two hours and players play 15 holes.

In the second session, head-to-head play begins with “Singles.” One player competes against one other player on the primary hole, then the second group of players compete, then the third group. This cycle repeats again for your complete six-hole “singles” portion.
Teams can increase the stakes of a hole by implementing a feature called “The Hammer.” If the opposing team agrees, the worth of the outlet is 2 points as a substitute of 1. If they refuse, they’re effectively conceding the outlet.
Overtime will feature a 3-on-3 game, the closest thing to a pin contest between teams, until a winner is set.
