West Palm Beach, Florida (AP) helper Lucas Sims and the Washington Nationale approved a one-year contract, the team said on Wednesday.
Washington also put the right-handed mason Thompson on the 60-day injured list. Thompson has the reconstruction of Tommy John's elbow operation.
Sims, 30, was 1-6 with an ERA of 4.38 in 58 auxiliary appearances last yr for Cincinnati and Boston, who acquired him in a trade on July thirtieth. The right-hander is 22-19 with an ERA of 4.50 and 12 parades in eight major League playing times with Atlanta (2017-18), the Reds (2018-24) and the Red Sox. He has 353 Strikeouts in 306 Innerings.
Sims is the most recent pitcher that was added to the list by Washington this low season, a bunch to which Michael Soroka, Shinnosuke Ogasawara and Jorge López belong.
