Local health officers have expressed concerns in regards to the confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as President Trump's health secretary, including the Massachusetts Public Health Alliance (MPHA).
The MPHA said that it was “seriously concerned” about Kennedy's confirmation as a secretary for health and human services in an evidence on Thursday after previously against Kennedy's nomination.
“Lord Kennedy's comprehensive recording of the spread of disinformation about vaccines, HIV and AIDS, water fluoride and transgender health care shows dangerous disregard for established science and evidence-based measures in the area of public health, which have saved countless life,” said the MPHA. “During the hearing of the confirmation, Mr. Kennedy showed that he lacks the necessary training, experience in healthcare, ethical judgment and the fundamental understanding of science that are necessary to serve as the main official of our nation.”
The senators of Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markay, had their very own comments on X.

Warren handled the changes that Kennedy could make as a way to profit from these complaints as a health secretary, including the removal of vaccine mandates, the appointment of lawyers for vaccinations and changes to this system for remuneration of vaccines.

Under the Trump administration, Kennedy will probably “dismantle the essential infrastructure of public health” and “give up evidence-based practices,” said the MPHA in the reason.
Kennedy has come under fire for his earlier support of vaccine skepticism throughout the Covid 19 pandemic. In 2021, Kennedy A reported petition Food and Drug Administration request to revoke the authorization for emergency use for existing and future COVID 19 vaccines.
The concerns have also arisen from Kennedy's perspectives on water fluoride and transgender health supply.
“The health and security of the communities across the country depends on the leadership that respects science, public health understands and presents people before politics and gains,” said the MPHA in the reason. “Lord of Kennedy's confirmation represents a dangerous deviation from these principles.”
MPHA will proceed to work with officials from the state and native public healthcare system to “protect and promote the health of all residents of the Commonwealth,” the reason says.
