With lower than per week before the matter had gone to legal disputes, Oakland Airport has achieved a settlement of announcements of community noise, air quality and traffic concerns that make clear the best way for a very powerful expansion project of the airport.
The port of Oakland, which runs Oakland Airport, agreed to scale back the noise pollution through the project as a part of its settlement with town of Alameda and the Community Group Citizens League for airport security and serenity. All three parties Unanimously approved an agreement on Tuesday.
“This agreement will make a major contribution to coping with the concerns of the class and its members,” said class President Jon Hamilton in a press release from Hafen of Oakland. “We are pleased that there will now be an official OAK noise plan that represents the homage of the port to combat noise effects of flights over our communities.”
The class and the port of Oakland couldn’t be reached immediately for a comment on Friday.
The billing will enable Oakland airport to terrend with long -awaited plans to interchange Terminal 1 with a brand new terminal with as much as 16 gates and to modernize its existing terminals and facilities, which correspond to modern security, seismic and efficiency, in accordance with Oakland.
