Garrett Crochet and the Red Sox didn’t conform to an extension of the contract before the deadline of the opening day of the players was on the opening day.
However, apparently either side have made considerable progress and that the talks will probably be resumed in the longer term.
Asked by Wei's Rob Bradford If he thought he was an extension before taking the hill in Texas on Thursday, Crochet thought that it might be in each directions.
“I wasn't quite sure. It was pretty much on the wire,” said Crochet. “So I was really not sure. It was just waiting to be heard. There was communication all the time.”

Crochet achieved an impressive season in 2024. He reported 209 Strikeouts over 146 Innerings, good for 12.9 Strikeouts Pro Nine Innings. A 1.068-groiche also helped Crochet to perform his first all-star game.
If the southern paws released a similarly dominant season, especially in a competition club in the Red Sox, it will be worth significantly more money than he would otherwise have been during spring training.
It is difficult to crochet to agree to choose himself if he was not completely satisfied with Boston's offers. He could become one of the best paid jugs in baseball if he continues his dominance in 2025.
Until then, Crochet said that it was “definitely fair” to imagine that the pages will tackle expansion talks wherein they’ve stopped in the longer term.
