Most travelers can probably agree that going through the airport security provision is an experience that falls somewhere on the funny measuring device between the dentist and the payment of taxes.
In order to avoid this less nice experience, around 20 million travelers have joined the TSA Precheck program based on the most recent data from the transport security authority.
The program introduced in 2013 guarantees: “Shorter waiting times of less than 10 minutes, a larger checkpoint efficiency and improved security”.
However, the newly published research from improved points, a travel and bank card point resource, show that despite the promised waiting time with TSA -Precheck, despite the promised “under 10 minutes”, the schedules for programs are essentially longer processed.
Based on a survey of 1,517 Americans that were carried out this 12 months, the investigation showed that the TSA Precheck members don’t necessarily speed up security if this system guarantees.

There are probably a wide range of aspects in relation to the deviation between what TSA guarantees for Vorcheck members (lower than 10 minutes to perform the screening), and what many travelers actually experience, says Beister.
“Firstly, TSA Precheck is available from over 200 airports, so that smaller, less busy airports will probably bring the average down,” Beierlein told Travel Pulses.
“But most travelers go through larger hubs where the waiting times would normally be longer,” he added.
In addition, the variety of individuals with the TSA Pecheck membership increases, and consequently, the accelerated screening lines of this system are less exclusive, added Beierlein.

“TSA did not say exactly how to calculate their times and our travelers go out of their memory, so there is space for some fluctuations on both sides,” he said. “That means people are pretty clear: they usually don't get through in less than 10 minutes. Usually it feels at least three times in three parts.”
It can be essential to keep in mind that the number within the survey is simply a median. Some travelers said Precheck saved loads of time while others said it took an hour to get through the screening.
“Overall, the reality is probably somewhere in the middle: at smaller airports it may still be less than 10 minutes, but with larger, especially in busy times, it is often 30 minutes or more,” said Beierlein.
