Santa Cruz Warriors open 2024-25 season with two home games

SANTA CRUZ – The Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA G League affiliate team of the Golden State Warriors, have announced their Tip-Off Tournament and regular season schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

The Warriors open the Tipoff Tournament on November 8 and 9 with two consecutive home games against the Valley Suns, the Phoenix Suns' brand recent NBA G League affiliate.

Santa Cruz went 11-5 within the Showcase Cup last season and reached the tournament semifinals under recent head coach Nick Kerr. The Warriors went 20-14 within the regular season, ending fourth within the Western Conference and earning a playoff spot, after which reached the conference semifinals.

The Oklahoma City Blue beat the Maine Celtics 2-1 of their best-of-three series to win the G League title.

After the season, Santa Cruz was named G League Franchise of the Year for the fourth time within the last seven years.

“I look forward to an even more exciting 2024-25 season and to continuing the streak of sold-out games, which begins with the first home game on November 8 against the Suns,” said David Kao, chief operating officer of the Santa Cruz Warriors, in a press release.

Golden State has three players under contract on two-way contracts. All three – guards Pat Spencer, Reece Beekman and Daeqwon Plowden – will play for Santa Cruz this season.

The Warriors are scheduled to have a month-long, 10-game home series from February 7 to March 9. The 10-game series includes three consecutive Friday-Saturday games and can cap off with the annual Chase Center game on March 9, pitting the Warriors against the Mexico City Capitanes.

Santa Cruz will play two seven-game away tours through the regular season: one initially of the season from December 27 to January 13 and one other immediately following the team's 10 home games from March 12 to 25.
