Hot on the heels of the $699 PlayStation 5 Pro, Sony has unveiled a series of limited edition consoles celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the PlayStation line. The design is harking back to the unique console, which launched in Japan on December 3, 1994, with a gray chassis and the PlayStation logo in the unique colours.
It's just like what the corporate released with the twentieth anniversary console, but on a bigger scale with multiple offerings, although no prices have been announced yet. Here they’re:
The PlayStation 5 Pro Console – thirtieth Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle: This is by far the high roller and largest fan of Sony's console. It includes an incredible range of extras. Buyers will receive the special PS5 Pro console which is numbered. Sony is barely making 12300 of them for release date reference. It includes the limited edition DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller, DualSense charging station, a console cover for a disc driver and a vertical stand.
Extras include an original PlayStation controller style cable connector, 4 PlayStation Shapes cable ties, a PlayStation poster, a PlayStation sticker and a PlayStation paper clip. All of those extras mean that this package costs quite a bundle.
PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – thirtieth Anniversary Limited Edition Pack: This is a normal PlayStation 5 with the limited edition extras, minus the DualSense Edge and DualSense charging station. Since the regular console starts at $449.99, this price could possibly be a bit higher.
PlayStation Portal Remote Player – thirtieth Anniversary Limited Edition: If you have already got a PS5, you may consider this device, which permits you to play games in a more comfortable environment or when your TV is occupied by other members of the family. Like the opposite offerings, it’s harking back to the unique PlayStation controller. An everyday PlayStation Portal costs $199.
The PlayStation thirtieth Anniversary Collection launches on November twenty first and shall be available to pre-order from September twenty sixth on direct.ps.com. It's going to be insanely difficult to get your hands on one. I managed to get my hands on a twentieth anniversary PlayStation 4 in 2014 and it was a painstaking process. Good luck next week.
Here are photos of the items below. They have some nice details.
