Soothing earth tones. Murals with snow-capped mountains and blue skies. Shiny, shiny fittings. What traveler wouldn't need to be in a spot like this?

The winner of the 2024 America's Best Restroom online competition is a Maverik gas station, supplier of gasoline and groceries, near Salt Lake City International Airport.

Now in its twenty third 12 months, the competition highlights a few of America's cleanest, most modern and ornamental places to conduct personal business.

The Maverik chain has greater than 380 stations in 12 western states, with the biggest concentration in Utah.

Where to stop will be one of the stressful decisions during a visit. Functionality is a must. Clean is unquestionably very, very nice. But select the correct spot on your much-needed bathroom stop, and you’ll be able to turn a routine and even an unpleasant necessity right into a travel irvana.

If you're not in Salt Lake City, you would possibly get lucky and end up near the nine other 2024 nominees when nature calls:

HOP Shops (Florence, Kentucky): The toilet on the HOP Shops supermarket features trendy tiles, green soap dispensers and a spinning disco ball.

Indiana Caverns (Corydon, Indiana): The longest cave within the Hoosier State features “spacious restrooms” “designed for convenience and hygiene,” with multiple stalls.

Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium (Kansas City, Missouri): This destination features “beautiful, gender-friendly restrooms at the new Sobela Ocean Aquarium.” It has toddler seats and changing stations.
