Authorities arrested a Cohasset man Wednesday night for allegedly painting a swastika on a Trump sign, police said in a social media post.
The suspect was identified by Cohasset police as 74-year-old Franklin Laidlaw. According to police, Laidlaw allegedly painted a swastika on a “political sign.”

Photos Data obtained by WCVB News shows the sign represents former President Donald Trump. According to police, the sign was positioned on Route 3A.
Laidlaw is charged with felony destruction of property and pleaded not guilty Thursday, court documents show. The suspect's representative didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, Cohasset police confirmed.
