In mid-April, 15-year-old Jázmin Pellegrini ran away from her Bay Point home without money or a phone.
Days later, her body was found face down 40 miles away in a residential area of San Francisco.
Now her family is asking for help to search out out who she was with, how she got there, what she was doing and why she was left alone to die on the streets.
“This poor child was abandoned and left to die by whoever he was with,” she said GoFundMe Page raising funds for her funeral and other costs.
The family is looking for witnesses who could have seen her, in addition to video footage from the realm, in hopes of checking out who’s responsible.
The San Francisco Chief Medical Examiner's Office has not released her explanation for death, KRON4 reported. She had no physical signs of trauma, they said.
According to the family, Jázmin struggled for years with bipolar disorder, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder consequently of childhood sexual abuse. The teenager and her family immigrated from Hungary to Bay Point near Pittsburg in 2019.
Despite repeated hospitalizations, she was “a beautiful, loving, enthusiastic 15-year-old,” in response to the GoFundMe page written by aunt Ametiszt Hajdu.
She was released from Martinez Health Center on April 17. Three hours later she disappeared.
Paramedics were called when she was discovered in an unknown person's driveway near the corner of Lobos and Plymouth avenues in San Francisco's Ingleside neighborhood on April 20. According to her family, she was resuscitated once and later pronounced dead.
“Such an unreal and unimaginable tragedy has occurred,” Hajdu wrote, “with so many unanswered questions.”
