MENDOCINO COUNTY – Authorities say they’re looking for a 70-year-old Oakland woman who went missing while mountaineering near Fort Bragg on Tuesday.
Elizabeth Schenk called a friend for help around 9:30 a.m. after she got lost while walking on a logging road near Bruhel Point Road, Mendocino County Sheriff's Capt. Quincy Cromer said in a news release. The friend gave her directions.
Around 11 a.m., the acquaintance became concerned because Schenk had not returned and was not answering her cellphone, Cromer said. The acquaintance recruited neighbors to assist seek for Schenk and at last reported her missing at around 4:45 p.m.
The sheriff's office, together with other law enforcement agencies and the fireplace department, looked for Schenk on Tuesday and Wednesday but didn’t find her, Cromer said.
Schenk is taken into account in danger as a result of her age and various previous illnesses.
Schenk is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 kilos, with graying brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white sweater, white vest and white jeans.
