Over the years, there was loads of speculation about Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown’s off-the-field relationship.

The lack of public appearances seems to bolster the notion that the young stars don't really get along or hang around together outside of basketball. On the court, they're leading the Celtics to a different deep postseason run, but off-court concerns remain.

Speaking to FanDuel TV, former NBA player Lou Williams gave some insight into the true relationship between the 2. Celtics fans can rest somewhat easier together with his explanation.

“I pull back the curtain, they really do hang out together,” Williams said. “I've been with them on several occasions, but they're both fairly private people. They don't live lives where cameras follow them everywhere. … They keep their private lives secret, they keep their families secret, they keep their way of life secret.

“I saw them on several occasions hanging out together and being friends.”

Regardless of their relationship, Tatum and Brown had no problem taking turns being “the man” for Boston on any given night. On Thursday, Brown's moment to shine got here when he set a profession playoff high with 40 points within the Celtics' second game against Indiana. That performance got here the identical day he was left off the All-NBA teams.

In Game 1, Tatum scored 36 points in Boston's extra time win and Brown hit the game-winning three-pointer that sent the sport into extra time. The dynamic duo is looking for its first NBA title and has the perfect probability to win it this season.

If Williams' view is correct, the rumors surrounding Tatm and Brown are exaggerated. And even when not, it doesn't appear to be slowing Boston's pursuit of Banner 18.
