A grand jury in a federal court in New York City is hearing evidence in a criminal investigations in reference to Sean “Diddy” Combsin accordance with a brand new report.

Two sources accustomed to the matter told NBC News, disgraced music mogul and his legal team have been informed by the authorities within the Southern District of New York that he’s currently under investigation.

A police officer confirmed to Deadline that Diddy and his legal team have been officially informed of the proceedings last week, but didn’t provide details about what allegations were involved within the investigation.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment on Thursday.

Although the case is a component of a criminal investigation, sources say there are not any indications that the Harlem rapper might be charged with any crimes any time soon.

The Department of Justice defines “subject of investigation” as an individual “whose conduct as part of the grand jury investigation,” A “target” is defined as an individual “whom the prosecutor or grand jury has substantial evidence linking him or her to the commission of a crime.”
